Gold & Wood

Glasses made of wood and horn

Spectacles were once precious, unique pieces made by hand with prized materials. Maurice Leonard, inventor of Gold & Wood, wants to take us back to that moment in time. Starting with the careful selection of rare, often tropical wood, gold and other metals, and water buffalo horn, materials find their way to the hands of craftsmen who shape them into minimalist, elegantly-designed glasses, maintaining the texture of the wood or horn they came from. In the process, they evolve into unique pieces, as singular as the tree or animal itself. Each item is different from the next, for accessories that embody the quality and refinement of hand-worked processes.
