Maui Jim was founded in 1987 as a small sunglasses stand on the beach of Ka'anapali in Lahaina, Maui. To combat intense glare and provide protection from harmful UV rays while enhancing the island's brilliant colors, the brand developed the revolutionary PolarizedPlus® lenses.
What started as a small collection of seven models has grown to offer over 125 sunglasses, all polarized and capable of protecting from 100% of harmful UVA and UVB rays. Additionally, many models can be transformed into prescription sunglasses.
The original headquarters is still located in Lahaina, Maui, where the brand continues to design and test all its sunglasses, ensuring the highest quality and innovation.
